Product 1: Kangaroo Dreaming Wall Hanging

Artwork: Matjumpa Ritjinguthinha – Kangaroo Dreaming
Artist: Chern’ee Sutton – Kalkadoon woman

Bring culture, story and connection into your learning space with this beautiful Kangaroo Dreaming Wall Hanging, featuring artwork by award-winning Kalkadoon artist Chern’ee Sutton.

Matjumpa Ritjinguthinha means Kangaroo Dreaming in Kalkadoon language. The artwork shares a story of a time when kangaroos did not have pouches and their young had to hop alongside them. When fire threatened Matjumpa and her joeys, she was granted a pouch so she could carry them safely away from danger.

In collaboration with Sue from Ingham Sewing Centre, we have transformed this beautiful fabric panel into a wall hanging ready to display in your classroom, service or home.

More than decoration, it provides an opportunity to begin conversations with children about Kalkadoon Country, language, storytelling, animals and connection to Country.
