The Artist

Known for her acrylic work on canvas, Moana is an innovative Torres Strait artist that expresses her culture and stories through visual contemporary pieces. Moana’s style is unique and uses bold bright colours, metallic paint and eye-catching designs.

“On canvas, I only use acrylic paints, spray paint and paint pens to create different effects and styles. My works are all one of a kind, I never repeat a design,” – Moana Ahwang.

Moana has participated in group exhibitions including the 2008 and 2016 Gab Titui Indigenous Art Awards.
